NAPERVILLE – To show appreciation and lift the spirits of local seniors, State Senator Laura Ellman is collecting cards for seniors and residents in long-term care facilities for Valentine’s Day.
“A heartfelt Valentine’s Day card can brighten a day and show our appreciation for the generations who built our communities,” said Ellman (D-Naperville). “One card can remind our seniors that they are loved, seen and valued.”
Ellman is encouraging residents to write handmade or store-bought cards to help bring joy to older adults who may be feeling lonely during Valentine’s Day. Children are also encouraged to participate.
Cards can be mailed or delivered now through Feb. 11 to Ellman’s office at 24W500 Maple Ave., Suite 215 Naperville, IL 60540. Cards can be dropped through the mail slot.
