GLEN ELLYN – State Senator Laura Ellman announced that a nearly $75,000 grant was awarded to innovative SuperBetter, a game-based learning platform who is partnering with Northern Illinois University.
“This investment supports innovative work that strengthens mental health, builds resilience, and helps students succeed,” said Ellman (D-Naperville). “By partnering local businesses with our universities, we’re advancing solutions that improve well-being while growing our economy right here in the western suburbs.”
The Illinois Innovation Voucher Program connects small businesses with the state’s world-class universities and research institutions. Through competitive awards of up to $75,000, the program enables companies to pursue research and development projects in partnership with a qualified Illinois institute of higher education to support technology validation, accelerate product development and strengthen commercialization pathways.
In the 21st Senate District that Ellman represents, SuperBetter, a University Partner of Northern Illinois University, located in Glen Ellyn was selected to receive a total of $74,922.31 through the Innovation Voucher Program grant.
SuperBetter is a game-based learning platform that empowers mental health, resilience, social-emotional learning and student success. The methodology integrates practices from game science, positive psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy.
